Since Masawkatsinam are said to be the Death Spirit and God of the Underworld, I prefer when they’re rather creepy and skeletal. This one, by accomplished Hopi carver, Sandra Suhu, fills that bill. It is 13″ tall to the top of the rambling paho or prayer sticks, and 8 1/2″ to the top of head. It is signed with her stylized signature on the base of the garment. There is an entirely stable hairline crack on one foot that is barely visible. I have reduced the price accordingly.
