Larsen Harris – Large Wuyaktaywa or Broadface Katsina

Excellent, large Wuyaktaywa or Broadface by talented carver, Larsen Harris. Larsen is Tobacco Clan and from Musangnovi. I’ve seen Broadface katsinam on Hopiland many times and this version does them justice. The katsina is 18″ tall including the crown of feathers and 12 1/2″ wide from hand to hand. The katsina has fringed leather bags and fringe on his right hip. He also has shells attached to his bandoliers and abalone fragments on his leather wristband. He is holding yucca whips in both hands as do the real Broadface Katsinam. The katsina is signed on the bottom of both feet with LHarris and a Tobacco Clan symbol.
