Description This wonderful bolo Tie was made by the famous and talented Zuni artist Mary Ann Poncho. She started creating jewelry in 1953 and was active until 1975. She worked with her husband Charlie Poncho who collaborated with her on this piece . As it turns out, she is perhaps most famous for her “Eagle Dancer” designs in her jewelry…just like this one. As a noted Zuni artist, her work is featured in several high end galleries, collections, and in the major Native Jewelry catalogs and reference books. This is stamped with the hallmark “C.M.P. Zuni” It has a Bennett adjustable metal clip on the back of the bolo tie c. 1957 and is stamped “Bennett Pat. Pend. C-31,” Made in the 1960’s It is guaranteed to be Sterling Silver and authentic. The Eagle Dancer has been channel inlaid with white clam, mother of pearl, coral, turquoise, jet, and serpentine. This is a rare and wonderful museum quality bolo suitable for wear by both men and women. This half man/half Eagle deity was often known as “The Great One” and bestows wisdom, strength, and courage.
